2025 WBF Grant Recipient Spotlight: Waukee Leadership Institute

Strong communities are built by strong leaders, and for nearly two decades the Waukee Leadership Institute (WLI) has played a vital role in cultivating them. Each year’s class participates in monthly leadership development sessions led by local experts and city officials, culminating in a student-led service project that directly benefits the community.

This year, the Waukee Betterment Foundation awarded $1,000 to support key enhancements to the Leadership Institute’s website. These updates, developed in partnership with Illuminated Agency, will help WLI streamline operations, better engage sponsors, and more effectively connect participants with impactful service projects. Improving these digital tools strengthens the organization’s ability to reach and develop new leaders for years to come.
