2025 WBF Grant Recipient Spotlight: Waukee Community Schools Foundation

ree

Supporting students is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen a community, which is why the Waukee Betterment Foundation awarded $1,000 to the Waukee Community Schools Foundation (WCSF) this year. WCSF plays a vital role in ensuring every student in the Waukee Community School District has what they need to learn, grow, and feel supported—no matter their circumstances. With more than 13,600 students and 2,800 staff members across the district, including thousands of Waukee residents, their impact reaches deep into our community.

This grant will support WCSF’s Financial Hardship Fund, specifically helping create New Student Welcome Kits for students who are new to the district and new to the country. These kits include essentials like backpacks, school supplies, hygiene items, and “We Are Waukee” t-shirts to help students feel confident and connected from day one. With a growing number of immigrant and refugee families joining the district each year, these kits provide immediate support and help remove barriers to learning.

When organizations like WCSF lift up our students, the entire community benefits. If you’d like to help ensure this kind of impact continues for future generations, a gift to the Waukee Betterment Foundation Endowment is a meaningful way to strengthen our community for years to come.
